Mini-A-Month

Hey folks,

Just wanted to update you on my new project Mini-A-Month. I’ll be creating a 16 page mini comic each month for the next 12 months. I hope to have all of them collected into one edition by Wizard World Chicago of next year. Check it out and stop by regularly for workblog updates, character designs, script revisions etc. Each comic will be posted in PDF form for you to d/l and print yourself or you can get a signed/numbered copy from me for 2$, the printed copies should be available around the first week or so of each new month.

Of writing and art

Updates, updates updates…

And ellipses… lots of them…

Anyway just a heads ups, the first 12 pages of The Right Way Wrong are now lettered and available on TheRightWayWrong.com. Have a look, Anna did an absolutely wonderful job with this book!

Also my newest project A Dead Wonder (website coming soon) just picked up an artist! Lukasz is amazing and I can’t wait to see what he turns out on what I think is a really fun script. Check his stuff out over here http://xide.digart.pl/digarty/

Also, I’ll be at NYCC and Chicago this year! I’ll be wondering the floor flashing my writing portfolio to anyone who’ll look. I’m even going to have business cards, that’s right folks I am ‘high class’. Snip Snap.

Speaking of ‘Snip Snap’ I got season 1 of Frisky Dingo.. it’s totally awesome.. just wish they’d put some extras on it.

Misspent Youth and other miscillania

Well after a lot of searching and false starts, Misspent Youth is finally getting off the ground! This is a collaboration I’m doing with a friend, David Boozer. You can consider it survival horror I suppose. It centers around the lives of 6 kids, all under the age of 13, and their fight for survival in a world where the adults have all gone mad.

I’m really happy with the artist we picked up and I think this one has some legs. Though, I think all my projects that I push to get to this stage have legs :D.

On Right Way Wrong news, we’ve only 2 pages left on issue 1. Anna has finished her part of the cover and it’s been shipped off to Bruno (he did the back cover on Madman #6, you should check it out!) who will be putting on some final touches. I’m finishing issue 2 and will have that out to Anna fairly soon.

Since this was my first real project I’m going to go ahead and put the money in to finish all three issues. I like the idea of having something I can hand to people to show some of my abilities and I also I’m rather sentimental about this story and want it to be complete.

I’ll be at NY Comiccon this year pimping some of my work, no table I’ll just be milling about. It’s likely though you could find me hanging out at the DigitalPimpOnline booth in artist alley. These guys are the best, read their webcomics!

Oh also Sketch and I have DnT on an extended hiatus… it’s not dead yet! We have some stuff planned for those characters and hope to be doing some new stuff with them soon.

OK that gets us up to date I think.. oh as should be expected I have about 3 other scripts I’ve finished that I’m going to start shopping artists on. If anyone out there’s interested feel free to drop me a line. I’ve got some cyberpunk, religious, and a superhero comedy in the works as well as a few others that are in their infancy.

Here’s a preview of the cover of Misspent Youth #1!

Misspent Youth Issue 1

Shadowline Contest

So Shadowline is running a contest for writers. They want you to create a new Super-Heroine for a 3 issue miniseries. Kris Simon the editor-in-chief of Shadowline is going through them and will choose the top 10, those 10 write a 5 page script and from those scripts 5 will be chosen to be voted on by the public at Newsarama.

So I submitted something like 8 proposals so far but I realized …. I’m not giving them what they want! Shit! Yeah so I misinterpreted what they were asking for.. or actually I just got confused by some of the thread. I initially submitted what they wanted on two proposals; a full breakdown of the series in about 7 or so sentences with ending and all. Then after reading some of the thread it seemed they wanted just a quick synopses sort of like a blurb. That was wrong so I wasted like 6 good ideas on that.

Ah well I’m to an idea I really like and I’m going to give some good thought.

In other news, my new comic Misspent Youth is going into art production later this month. I’m really happy with this one. I collaborated on this one with David Boozer, one of my buddies. We have a guy named Paul Williams doing the art. He’s quite the talented Brit! We’re really excited that he’s doing the art and I think the series will be really fun.

As far as Right Way Wrong goes Anna has finished something like 20 pages and she’s working on the cover! We’ll start pitching that pretty soon, so hopefully we’ll have some good news soon.
